She Who Walks: Aske Guided Walk

We will meet at Aske Estate and follow the public rights of way across the beautiful parkland to Richmond. Once at Richmond we will loop around the Georgian racecourse before returning across the parkland of the Estate. A short lowland hike aimed at those with little or no previous experience of walking in the countryside. This would also be a great starting point for those with low fitness levels or a lack of confidence in their fitness. This route is across pasture fields and through some woods for a distance of roughly 4.5 miles. Some parts may be muddy. There is some gentle ascent of approx 500ft on the route but we will take our time!
If participants would like to stay for refreshments afterwards, Mocha Aske have kindly offered us a free cake with the purchase of a hot drink.
Please note this is a FEMALE ONLY event.
Highlights include:
- Lead by a qualified Hill and Moorland Leader
- Small group of 12 max
- Optional cafe visit after the walk
Start: 9.15am
You must be 18+ to enter this event.
You will need:
- Walking boots/shoes and thick socks
- Warm clothing. Jeans should be avoided. A warm base layer and a fleece mid layer is recommended
- Waterproof jacket.
- Gloves and hat
- Spare top layer in your pack
- Snacks and drinks in an easy to find section of your bag. We recommend bringing at least 500ml of drinks with you
- Fully charged mobile phone
- Any personal medication needed
- A comfortable back pack to carry your own kit. You may wish to consider putting things inside a plastic bag or other waterproof bag inside your back pack
- Money if you wish to visit the café after the walk
