The OTT Trail Marathon is BACK with an additional 10 mile race as an alternative to the marathon! Based within the fantastic Brecon Beacons, the views will not disappoint . Start and Finish at Parkwood – this looped course takes in Pen Y Fan from Graig Fan Ddu before heading up Fan Y Big before heading over to Talybont Reservoir for the final climb up Tor y Foel for the marathon.
The 10 miler follows the marathon to Checkpoint 1 where you will leave the marathon route and follow the forestry tracks back to Dolygaer.
A love for the following are a must:- mountains trails, fantastic views, and cakes at aid stations.
All finisher shall receive a OTT Trail Marathon coaster and buff.
You’ll need the following compulsory kit on the day FOR THE MARATHON:
Mobile phone(fully Charged at the start)
Hydration (minimum of 1 liter)
Foil blanket or Bivi Bag
Food & Emergency Rations (400 Cals emergency rations)
Basic 1st aid kit
Head torch or torch
Compass
Whistle
Waterproof jacket and trousers (Tapped seems)
Warm Layer, hat, and Gloves
Head torch
Bag/Ruck Sack
For the 10 mile race, compulsory kit is:
First aid kit
Bivvy/Foil blanket
500ml of water
Waterproof jacket
There are 3 checkpoints for the marathon and 1 for the 10 mile race:
– Checkpoint 1 at 7 miles.
– (MARATHON ONLY) Checkpoint 2 at 14.5 miles
– (MARATHON ONLY) Checkpoint 3 at 20.5 miles.
The cutoff for this the marathon is at Checkpoint 3 at 15:00. This is 6 hours after the start of the race, so a pace of 20mins/mile or quicker is required of entrants.
For the 10 mile race, you have to check in at checkpoint 1 before heading off to the finish line.
