A big new road ride for TweedLove!

TweedLove Bike Festival has always celebrated riding bikes – all sorts of bikes – in the Tweed Valley, so we’re pleased to now introduce a new event, Orbea LoveTouro powered by CycleLaw Scotland. This open road cycle sportive is based on our sister road event, the closed road sportive Tour O The Borders. Anyone who’s ridden the ‘Touro’ or TweedLove’s original road ride Skinny Tweed will know how good the riding is here, with smiles for miles on idyllic, quiet roads alongside the friendliest bunch of riders you’ll ever meet.

We are always keen to showcase the beautiful scenery of the Scottish Borders and we’ll aim to do so again with this event. The ride starts and finishes from Event HQ on Tweed Green, Peebles.

If you’ve never done a Sportive before, this is the perfect opportunity to have a go, in a relaxed atmosphere, but the full course will provide an enjoyable challenge for more experienced road cyclists too. LoveTouro is open for anyone 14 years of age or older. Children age 14 or 15 MUST ride with a responsible adult for the duration of the event and have parental consent. Anyone age 16 or older is considered an adult.

LoveTouro also aims to celebrate everything that has made Tour O The Borders the south of Scotland’s most popular mass participation sports event, while it’s going through a period of uncertainty regarding permissions for its continuation as a closed road event. With this ride we’re definitely intending to keep the famous Touro spirit alive.

Entries for adaptive cyclists are free of charge. Any and all accessible bikes will be welcome at this event, whether you’re powered by motor, by manual hand power or otherwise. We can also offer free places to support riders who will accompany you on the LoveTouro ride. If you would like to enter or have any questions, please email info@tweedlove.com or info@tourotheborders.com and we'll email you an invitation. We'll accommodate any additional requirements where possible.

Please note this is not a closed road circuit.

Just like Touro, LoveTouro offers you a choice of distances to ride. Choose between:

  • Approx. 100km
  • Approx. 70km
