Cawston and Marsham Heaths consist of small areas of woodland which are separated by open and rough open spaces, some of which are gorse-covered. Characterised by many small pits, depressions, and knolls. The area was extended with the addition of a woodland area to the north.
The area was remapped in 2022 by Peel Land Surveys.
Club Championships
The NOR Club Championships have been held annually since 2003 at a NOR Colour Coded Event. Men (M21+) compete for the Barry Chilvers Cup and women (W21+) for the Carol Towler Salver; both trophies having been donated in memory of former NOR members. Since 2015, the format of the competition has changed in that people run the course normally associated with their age class . A handicap, based on the age and course length, is applied to the results to determine the winner.
Current Champions (2022) are Glen Richardson, Barbara George and Matthew Bethell..

Note: To be eligible for the Barry Chilvers Cup or Carol Towler Salver, a competitor must:
- be a current senior member of NOR, i.e. M21+ or W21+
- run the designated course for their age group, or a longer course
