This event is a Junior only competition for local groups of Rainbows/Beavers to Guides/Scouts and for Juniors in age years Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3.

Rainbow, Brownie, Guide, Beaver, Cubs & Scout group pre-entry only by group leader using special group registration procedure here.

Individual Junior entries in Lower KS2, Upper KS2 and KS3 are to be made directly through SiEntries. Closing date for all entries, groups & individuals, Wednesday 4th October.

Less confident juniors in primary, especially Lower Key Stage 2 (7-9 years), may run in pairs but each will have a dibber and map. Shadowing of primary aged children will be permitted at the discretion of the organisers. Please ask at the start.

Course:  Junior  2.0Km

Start and Finish: Starts between 10:30 and 11:45.

Parking: Talkin Tarn has a large surfaced car park sufficient for 120 vehicles. Parking charges apply between 10am and 6pm. Due to connectivity issues the card facility on the parking machines appears not to be working, so either pay with cash or consider using the MiPermit phone app (which appears to be used in many Carlisle area car parks), where you can pay on the day by phone or pay in advance. At Talkin Tarn cars cost £1.30 for the first hour, or £2.40 for longer than this (ie remainder of the day).
 
Map: Based on the map used for the permanent orienteering course at Talkin Tarn Country Park, the map is specially prepared for this event at a large scale of 1:3000.
 
Facilities: Toilets & cafe in the Country Park.
