The fourth running of this extremely tough and challenging race which is fast growing in popularity
With around 14,000ft of climb and 90 miles long, this ultramarathon trail race along the Dales High Way long-distance walking path will challenge your limits like no other. Starting in the Victorian workers ’ village of Saltaire and culminating in Appleby-in-Westmorland in Cumbria, the route roughly runs parallel to the Settle and Carlisle Railway and takes in iconic Dales locations such as the Ribblehead Viaduct, Ingleborough (one of the Yorkshire Three Peaks), the market towns of Settle, Dent and Sedbergh, as well as traversing the majestic Howgills.
After finishing the 90 miles for those wanting an even more extreme challenge there is a a punishing 14-mile loop with an extra 2,000ft of climb to High Cup Nick (one of the best views in England) that can be added to round up to a 100-plus miler.
