Starting and finishing at Plumpton College and crossing some of the finest countryside in the South Downs National Park the route visits Offham, Lewes, Glynde, Firle Alfriston, East Dean, Norton, Rodmell and Housedean Farm.

Entry Fees: £40.00 for LDWA members, £48.00 for non-members
Entry includes a certificate for all finishers, hot/cold drinks and refreshments at most CPs, a light meal mid-event and a hearty breakfast at the finish. Badge available for sale.
Changing rooms, showers and sleeping facilities (sports hall) available at the finish. Luggage may be left at the hall at your own risk.
Parking: Free parking is available at the college from 08:30
Registration: from 09:00
Start: Staggered start from 10:00 to 11:30, but fast walkers should start after 10:30 and runners after 11:00, all to finish by 08:00 am.
There are 6 checkpoints and one water/clip point en-route, all of which have to be visited in the correct order as indicated in the route description.

Results will be on the LDWA website shortly after the event.
THE RULES.
This event is open to walkers and runners who must be over the 18 years of age on the day of the event.
Membership of the LDWA is not required.
No entries on the day.
No dogs.
Bring your own mug.
The opening and closing times of the checkpoints will be strictly adhered to.
To qualify for a certificate entrants must pass through all the checkpoints within the time limits and finish by 0700 on 24/9/2023.
Retirements must be made at checkpoints. If a retiree is unable to reach a checkpoint they should pass their tally to another entrant, who will notify the next checkpoint. Alternatively, the emergency phone number provided should be used.
The checkpoint marshals will have the right to retire any entrant who they consider is unfit to continue. Transport to Plumpton College will be provided for retirees.
Maps to cover the whole route (OS Landranger198&199/Explorer OL11 & OL25, formally 122/123) should be carried.
The weather on the South Downs can change quickly so dress accordingly.
A full route description will be available from mid-September. It must be carried by each entrant even if walking in a group - you may get separated – or if navigating by smartphone or GPS – your batteries might go flat. Failure to carry a route description may mean that (a) you are not covered by the LDWA Public Liability Insurance and (b) that you will be disqualified.
