Level D local orienteering event on Cockle Hill and Butterwick Crag (Lower Bampton Common).

Pre-entry only except for Novice course where there will be some entry on the day, subject to map availability.

Field, signed from 800m south of Helton.  £2 per car parking fee will be collected on the gate.

Courses:
Blue                             7.0km, 200m climb      1:7,500 map scale
Green                          5.0km, 100m climb      1:7,500
Short Green              3.6km, 100m climb      1:7,500
Very Short Green    3.0km, 80m climb         1:7,500 - **See note below
Novice                        2.2km, 60m climb         1:7,500

**Very Short Green - this is the same course as Short Green but with some controls missed out towards the end. If you want to do Very Short Green, enter Short Green and pick up a Short Green Map at the start. The map will show which controls to miss. You can decide while on the course whether to take the Very Short Green cut-off.

The start and finish boxes need to be punched, but all other boxes will be SIAC enabled.

Groups and Pairs / Extra Maps: 
If you are new to orienteering and would like to go round as a group or in a pair, just enter one person and use the option to select any additional maps that your group would like at £1 each.

Dibber Hire:
Available by pre-order at no charge, £30 if not returned. To pre-order, leave the SI number blank during entry process, collect from Download on the day.

Start and Finish: 
Starts between 11:00 and 12:30.

The Novice course starts and finishes within 100m of the car park. Other courses start and finish within 800m of the car park.

Facilities: Portaloo at parking. Cakes and hot drinks will be available to purchase (raising money for Camps International Ecuador).
 
Terrain: Open fell with gorse and rock detail. Runability is generally good.
 
Safety: Whistles are compulsory. Cagoules may be compulsory subject to weather conditions.
 
Dogs: OK on lead in car park – please clean up any mess

Entry Cancellation / Changes: If you are unable to make the event please let us know via the email address.  If we are informed by the closing date we will provide a refund less £1 per person to cover admin costs. Before the closing date you can change your course by editing your entry online, but there will be no changes of course on the day.
