Hamsterley Beast has now become the biggest cycle event of any kind to be held in Hamsterley forest. All set in the heart of County Durham’s beautiful landscape.
The route is split in to two lengths this year 40 country miles, 20 country miles . Both of which start and finish within Hamsterley forest from the nest which as the grove end of the forest. We have a new loop never used before for any event to keep things fresh aswell as all the old favourite bits and the odd twist thrown in for good measure . E bikes are welcome too. It doesn't matter which loop you enter you can ride either the 20 or the 40 miles . As the ride returns to HQ before heading back out on the second 20 ish mile loop .
As with previous years, it's a challenge and NOT a race. The challenge is to finish!! The event is open to anyone, young and old, both serious and fun cyclists. The Hamsterley Beast event team thrive to offer a fun, professional and a safe event, with a very relaxed atmosphere. But it goes without saying the riding and backdrops are at the top of everyone's list. It doesn't matter what you ride or how you ride it, we're all just there to have fun and raise some money for the Great North Air Ambulance Service.
This year the Beast is really knocking it up a notch! We will be bringing you even more live music, food and beer. There are a limited number of camping spots included in the price but you must select the camping option when booking , so it’s best to get your camping booked early.
