Gortin Glen Gravel Grinduro - Saturday 1st April

The Gortin Glen Gravel Grinduro is a fun day out with your friends riding bikes. It's not a race!

The 30km route has a mix of 60% gravel, 35% tarmac and 5% singletrack. It has almost 1000m of climbing that takes you off the beaten track and into the wilder parts of the Glens where few dare to roam. Along the way there are plenty of opportunities to stop, take in the views and refuel at our snack station. Sound easy!! The twist in the tale is the optional timed section that grinds all the way to the Giant at the top of Mullaghcarn!

If you are really up for a challenge why not turn on your beast mode and take on the 2 lap option.

If you want to be in with a shout to be crowned the King or Queen of the Glens you must take part in both events. The timed section from Saturday is added to the Enduro on Sunday for a fastest overall time to find the worthy crown bearers.

Please note riders under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Vitus First Tracks Enduro - Round 1 Gortin Glen - Sunday 2nd April

The Vitus First Tracks Enduro Cup is a Mountain bikers dream!  It will test your skill, fitness and metal on some of the finest trails in Ireland. Our goal is to create a friendly atmosphere – so you can relax, ride with your friends and get down to the serious business of ‘bragging rights!’

Round 1 - Gortin Glen, Omagh, Co Tyrone - Mash-up format

Stages total - Youth & Challenger 3, Enduro 4, E-bike 5

Each venue has its own unique set of challenges. Riders will visit some of Ireland’s most iconic mountain biking destinations along the way. It is aimed at intermediate – advanced riders that will race individually against the clock on the best terrain available at each venue.

Each race consists of up to 6 timed stages consisting of natural single track/ trail centre and are mostly gravity orientated. The lap including transitions and stages are approximately 16-24km. Stage times will be added together for a total time that will decide positions in each category. Transitions are mainly on fire road or single track and are NOT timed. Riders can chill with friends and make their way to the next stage at their own pace. Keep in mind there will be a time limit and cut offs in place for rider safety although this is set at a relaxed pace. The important bits are the descents! We are using the most reliable, non contact timing system available so riders can focus on the fun part. Specific information for each round will become available to competitors via email, social media and a briefing on the run up and at each event.

Riders must hold a current Cycling Ireland race licence (or equivalent) or purchase a one day licence when entering.
Cycling Ireland will NOT be offering one day licence to riders UNDER 18 (age on the day) - you need to be a member of Cycling Ireland.
See http://www.cyclingireland.ie/page/membership/join-cycling-ireland for more details and to join.

If you are entering anyone else in this event ask them for their SiEntries ID (not the same as their SI-Card number).  If they have not registered, please ask them to do so by visiting www.sientries.co.uk.  Once you have their SiEntries ID, surname and postcode, you will be able to enter them without needing to type in any of their personal details. This will mean that their results at events in this series can be linked together and they can receive an overall series placing. Remember: Points will only be added to riders registered on SiEntries – mates don’t let mates miss out on points!
