Edinburgh University Orienteering Club invites you to its annual festival of orienteering in the heart of Scotland’s capital. You can test your navigation with a night sprint race on Friday evening (part of our ‘Fight with the night’ series, this time around Stewart Melville college and Dean village and including exclusive access to newly mapped areas…), test your speed in the renowned urban race in South Edinburgh on Saturday (First event of the SOUL series) and test the legs and lungs with a classic race on the picturesque Arthur’s Seat on Sunday. And don’t forget to snap up a ticket for the famous ceilidh which will be back with a bang this year!

We are also offering a wheelchair-accessible Trail-O in Pollock halls on the Sunday which can be done alongside, or instead of, the standard Arthur's Seat event.

Big Weekend 2023 is trialling a new pairs format on behalf of the Scottish Orienteering association. Each runner in a pair will have their own map but will run with a shared SIAC.  Pairs will be competitive on the Open courses on any day, but not in the age category courses in the City Race. Please make one entry, tick the pairs box and add the details for your partner.

The event is known for combining high quality orienteering with the beautiful scenery of Edinburgh, with a healthy addition of craic thrown in for good measure. All of the orienteering is organised by university students, with proceeds supporting the club. This is your chance to experience the high quality, complex racing that will be used to determine the World Champions at WOC 2024, for which Edinburgh will be the host city. This event caters for all abilities, and as a University Club, beginners are more than encouraged to join in…it is a great way to experience the city in a new way! Should you need any help selecting a course for your beginners, feel free to get in contact and our team will be happy to assist in the process.

We look forward to seeing you in January!
