Introduction
The Yorkshire Wolds Ultra is a 50 km circular route, starting and ending in the centre of Pocklington. It has been designed by us so that you get to discover the best parts of the Wolds. You’ll visit the picturesque villages of Bishop Wilton, Kirby Underdale, Thixendale and Fridaythorpe.
The route goes through some of the less trodden trails. Those places where the Way’s don’t take you. If you thought you knew the Wolds, think again. You’ll climb up hidden valleys that reward you with incredible views. You’ll run through wild grass meadows. You’ll visit those hidden gems. This course is packed with ascend to keep it interesting from start to finish.
If you are looking at this event as a first time ultra, we’ve made the cut-off extra generous with 12 hours to complete, so that you don’t have to worry about time. And because it’s summer, you’ll finish in daylight. All the information can be found on our website.

Tracking and navigation
- GPX provided in advance.
- Premium OpenTracking GPS tracking with live timing and splits.
- Route available in OS via the OpenTracking App.
- Printed route map booklet provided.
- Key junctions will be marked with a combination of ground flags and signs.
Support
- First aid medical support.
- 3 checkpoints fully stocked with vegan friendly and gluten free nutrition.
- 1 checkpoint will be indoors with toilet facilities. Hot tea and coffee will also be available.
- The option of a non-returnable food drop-bag at the indoor checkpoint.
Facilities
- Changing room and toilet facilities at the start and finish (plus showers at the end).
- Free parking on site.
At the finish line
- Finishers eco-wooden medal
- Waymark post trophy reclaimed from the Wolds if you podium in the male or female category.
- Technical tee – and you get to choose from unisex or female fit. There's the option to plant a tree instead if a tee is not your thing.

- Free event photography.
- Mass walk to the start line.
- Hot drinks, cold drinks and snacks at the end.
