Piratical fancy dress is encouraged.

A substantial proportion of money raised from the race will be given as a donation to Bude Surf Life Saving Club.

Parking - Public Parking is available in the Crooklets Beach Car Park.  Parking charges will apply.   There is also some parking at Rosies Café. Please don't park on the race route.

Registration Event  headquarters will be at Bude Surf Life Saving Club which is adjacent to Crooklets Car Park.

Entry information - entrants can adjust and swap their entry up to the closing date for entry on 4th September 2022.  This must be done by the competitor on the SiEntries system.  After the closing date for entries no alterations are allowed and no swaps or entries on the day are permitted.  Any runners found to be running on another runner's details will be disqualified.

Toilets - There are some toilet facilities at Bude Surf Life Saving Club and public toilets at the Crooklets Beach Car Park which should also be open.

Showers - Outdoor showers are available at the rear of the Toilet block at Crooklets Car Park.  These charge.

Baggage -  There will be no baggage storage facilities to minimise congestion.  Please leave any belongings in your vehicle.  The car park is between Bude Surf Life Saving Club and the race start so you can drop things off on the way to the start.

Start and Finish - The Start and Finish areas will be on the road directly outside Tommy Jacks Beach Hotel. The start will be at 10:30am, with the race heading away from the beach.

Route – The route is mostly off road with a couple of short sections of road.  If it has been wet, the route will be slippery and muddy. A copy of the race route can be found on the Bude Rats Website (www.buderats.co.uk).

Water - There will be two water stations at approximately 3 and 5 miles.  Water will also be available at the finish.  If you think that you require more hydration than this, please bring your own supply with you.  How the water station is managed will depend on the regulations in force at the time.  Runners will be informed before the race.
