The event HQ is in Forres and the 50 mile challenge route is circular, starting from Forres Cricket Pavilion, walking around the south and east of Forres, then heading along the Moray Coast paths and beaches to Lossiemouth.  From here the walk goes inland to Elgin on old railway line, then back to Forres via forestry, country lanes and Heldon and Califer Hills.

Timing has been planned to accommodate the tides and to ensure that all walkers and runners will be required to navigate some sections at night.  There will be 6 manned checkpoints with refreshments and drinks, including a hot meal at the halfway stage.  The opening and closing times have been planned to accommodate walkers and runners.  Breakfast will be available for everyone at the finish.   Goody bags and Certificates will be available for all participants.

The Laich o’ Moray 50 is a qualifying event for the LDWA annual 100-mile walk.  For this reason the majority of places are reserved for LDWA Members who wish to walk the event.  A proportion of places will be open for non-LDWA members/runners.
