We are pleased to hold the 2022 Elan Valley MTB Challenge.
This is the fourth extremely popular Elan Valley MTB Challenge and has featured in Red Bull MTB's top 10 MTB challenge every year since the first.
The Elan Challenge is old school MTB at it’s best. Big climbs, fast flowy descents, technical descents and the feeling of being in the middle of nowhere. This is what the purist class as ‘proper mountain biking’.
All our events are challenges and not races. Our events have become to be know as some of the most relaxed events on the Mtb calendar, with people returning annually. Although relaxed we are very professional, and all safety features will be taken care of as well as every risk managed. So you are in safe hands.
Riding in what’s quickly becoming the ‘uk hub for mountain biking’ and Red Bull’s must do rides we will set a course that has something for everyone. Beginners can take it easy and the seasoned biker can challenge themselves. We cater for everyone.
There are two options 35k 55k The whole course will be route marked and a GPX file as backup.
Although this event is open to all abilities, you need to consider the following:
You will be going out in to the hills on your bike. Some areas are very exposed to the elements, so proper clothing, Bike spares and food and water needs to be taken on the ride.
The ride is all natural, so please don’t expect nicely groomed man made trails. Although the majority of the ride will be rideable by all, there are some areas where some less experienced biker will prefer to walk.
The legendary feed station will be half way around as well as all the other things everyone has become to expect at our events. First Aid cover, a quad Bike for emergencies, finishers medal, fully way marked signs that are high vis and plenty of them, and a GPX file as back up.
The start and will be at Rhayader Football Club (post code LD6 5DP) where we have free parking for everyone who has entered.
A brief will be sent out a week before the event with all the details and info for the event along with the GPX file.
Remember we have very limited number of spaces, so if you want in please don't hang around as once it's full, it's full.
