Race Director - Ronnie Staton

Please note there is no 30 mile option this year. We apologise for this and understand many will be disappointed. However, the 40 mile option has always been the most popular choice and to avoid numerous issues faced with holding two distances simultaneously we are going with the one distance. We hope many that would have chosen the 30 feel up to the challenge of the 40 mile.

Also please note our website (HOBO Pace) has not yet been updated in line with this event, it will be updated asap. So currently contains discrepancies. SiEntries is always the correct info.

We have now signed up with Trees Not Tees, to give you the option of planting a tree rather than receiving another race T-shirt. You can also opt out of having a medal to further reduce impact on the environment.

All HOBO Pace races are fully marked out and marshalled. No navigation other than common sense to stay on track is required at this event. Basic refreshments will be provided at regular intervals and at the finish.

Please note this is one lap and is actually a 40.8 Mile loop.

There is a generous cut off of 10.5 hours to complete this event making it very possible for all abilities of runner to complete.

The 40 mile loop takes in some of the most beautiful and undiscovered sandstone villages and historical sites in England. Runners only. Sorry no walkers, this refers to ramblers with no intention of making the cut off! Yes you are allowed to walk as a runner at times!

The race starts in the heart of Sherwood Forest and keeping mostly to forest trails and footpaths, the route passes charming lodges, through Creswell Crags and skirts the Welbeck Estate. It then crosses Clumber Park and through peaceful farm land before looping back to pass by the Thoresby Estate before returning to Sherwood Forest passing The Major Oak!

This circular loop is ideal for those fairly new to running trails or to those who wish to enjoy a safe and scenic supported run with friends. Equally, this race is also ideal for experienced runners seeking a trail ultra PB!
