The Saunders Lakeland Mountain Marathon is a two-day mountain navigation competition that is held annually in the Lake District for teams of two runners. The event has 7 courses of varying lengths and technical difficulty and involves an overnight camp. Competitors must carry the lightweight camping and safety equipment listed in the rules and must be competent in the use of map and compass in the mountains. Many checkpoints require accurate navigation and ,even in the summer, conditions can be adverse.
Please read the event rules and details for each course carefully before entering.A limit on the total number of entries on each course has been set.
The entry limits for each course are:
Fairfield 130 pairs
Scafell 40 pairs
Kirkfell 80 pairs
Carrock Fell 100 pairs
Harter Fell 110 pairs
Wansfell 130 pairs
Bedafell 70 pairs
There is an overall limit of 575 teams and the event will be closed to new entries, in all courses, once this is reached.
Contact your partner and ensure that they have already registered to use SiEntries. They should then give you their SiEntries ID (not the same as their SI-Card number). If they have not registered, please ask them to do so by visiting www.sientries.co.uk. Once you have their SiEntries ID, surname and postcode, you will be able to enter them as the second member of your team without needing to type in any of their personal details. After you have entered the event, the person who made the original entry can use the UPDATE ENTRY option on the event website to View/Edit their entry.
