Norn Iron Ultra 100

This is a 100 mile point to point Ultra in Northern Ireland. Starting in Ballycastle this event runs along the famous north coast, taking in spectacular views. Following the waymarked Ulster Way, the Norn Iron 100 runs along the iconic Giants Causeway, Causeway coast and the Sperrin's, to finish in Gortin, County Tyrone.
This is a multi-terrain course, including bogland, trail, forestry, road and beach.
The event follows the waymarked Ulster Way and a full GPX of the route is also provided, along with some additional detailed directions, printed on waterproof paper.
Checkpoints are provided along the route at approximately 18, 40, 55, 73, 88 miles (exact locations TBC) so you will need to be confident that you can run for the distance between these stations un-aided. Hot food will be provided at 40 and 73 miles, with snacks and water provided at all other checkpoints. One drop bag per runner will be transported to 40 miles and 73 miles – this can be a small bag and can contain clothing/shoes/food/water. There is a time limit of 34 hours – additional cut offs will be in place – see event details on our website for further details.
You are permitted crew who can provide you with clothing/food/water, however, you are not allowed support/buddy runners or pacers at any time throughout the event – anyone seen to have this will be disqualified.
All competitors will receive an event technical t shirt, bandana, a belt buckle, tracker, post-race refreshments, food/water at checkpoints. There are prizes for 1st, 2nd male and female.
Coach transfer is included from the finish at Gortin to the start in Ballycastle on the morning of the event. The event finishes at Gortin, showers and Changing are available along with an option to hire a bunk.
