North West Urban League: Those interested in scoring points in the NWUL rankings for 2021 should select their class when they enter, otherwise select the 'open' course that you want to run.  See below for courses.

Dibber Hire:  Standard dibber available by pre order at no charge, but £30 if lost.  To pre-order, leave the SI number blank when entering, and collect from download on the day

Start Times
: 15 minute blocks 11.00am to 12.30pm

Terrain: The Carlisle urban map covers the central shopping, cathedral & castle-surround areas together with Bitts Park, Carlisle’s main park backing onto the River Eden. The area was last used in 2012.

Enquiries, Download & Toilets are all in the Sheepmount Athletics Stadium Complex, with Start & Finish in close proximity.

Travelling to the Event: This Event is easily accessible by Public Transport - Please consider this option in the light of the ongoing climate emergency!

The distance from Carlisle Railway Station to the Sheepmount postcode is 23min by foot 1.8km according to Google maps.  It is 20 min and 1.6km from the Bus Station.  The majority of both routes are pedestrianised. They do involve walking through the race area.  An alternative (1.6km 29 mins) avoiding the competition area will be provided in the final details. Orienteers probably walk faster than Google Maps!

For cycle routes into and around Carlisle there is Sustrans Route 7 and 72 that cross each other near the Castle.  Please note that cycling is prohibited in pedestrian areas by the Lanes shopping area.

We have a bag drop, changing facilities and showers available which makes this option even more attractive

If you have to travel by car Devonshire Walk (Castle) Car Park is nearby. This is a Pay and Display CP suitable for cars, motorhomes and minibuses (more information in final details).

Refreshments: Hot and cold drinks, bar(!), ice-creams, street food available in Carlisle’s new pop-up space ‘The Tribe’, handily located next to the play area in nearby Bitts Park.  https://tribecarlisle.co.uk/

Sightseeing: Why not make a day of coming to Carlisle!  There’s plenty to see and do.  You could visit Carlisle Castle or the Tullie House Museum and Art Gallery.  Or walk around the new Carlisle Street Art Trail after your race.

Courses: (electronic punching – SIAC Enabled, except start and finish)

Almost no climb but these are straight line distances so expect to run 20 to 30% further.
