South London Orienteers is offering you the opportunity to run on the same area as the Junior Home International Relay Competition in a Regional event which will follow once the JHI has finished. Consequently, start times are a little later than usual and will be from 11:30 to 13:30. The event will operate within government and British Orienteering COVID guidelines to ensure we do everything possible to keep competitors and volunteers safe.
Entries will be available online (subject to map availability) until 13:00 on the day of the event.
Seven courses will be provided with the following distances (subject to final planning and controlling):
Please note the Brown course has 32 controls. If you are using a version 5 Si card (nos 1 - 499,999) or a version 8 SI card (nos 2,000,001 - 2,999,999) please hire a SIAC as they can only handle 30 controls.
Bramshott Common is mostly flat with a few steep slopes around the edges of the area. It is very runnable with a mixture of lightly wooded sections and open grassy areas interspersed with trees. The competition area for the longer courses extends both sides of the A3 and is connected by a tunnel. We are using a brand new map of the area which has been produced by Tom Edelsten using LIDAR data.
Car Parking, SIAC hire, starts, finish and download are in or very close to the assembly field.
If you have a SIAC, please use it rather than an SI card to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission.
Please come along early to see the JHI Relay Race in action - the JHI relay will be from 09:00 until 11:30. The finish will be in the same assembly field as that being used for this event.
Please ensure you familiarise yourself with the British Orienteering Participant Code of Conduct.
