Info: New entries for this event closed on Sunday 25th September 2022.
Entry Fee | £30.00 |
The Punk Panther version of a Backyard Ultra, Panther Takes the Hindmost follows similar rules to other elimination races. Following a series of qualifying laps around a 10.5km trail, each subsequent lap sees the person finishing last drop out until the final three face off in a battle to be the last runner standing.
The Car Park and start are at the Hirst Wood Car Park, by Hirst Lock on the Leeds/Liverpool Canal Post Code BD18 4DD.
This involves everyone starting out on a Friday morning on a 10km out and back course After 4 laps the elimination laps start and the person last to finish the next lap will be eliminated (see rules). No one will be allowed to start on a new elimination lap until all the runners are home from the previous lap and one is eliminated. This will continue until there are just three runners left. They will then be allowed to continue until there is only one left.
The start will be from a car park, so you can rest up and refill in your car between laps. There are also public toilets available throughout the race.
This race also has UTMB points, if you complete the following number of laps you will be credited with points as below.
Race results are based on distance completed first, then time. Your time is calculated on your running time and not race time. (It is possible to finish ahead of a quicker runner!)
UTMB results will be posted for the time you complete furthest out of 3 laps, 5 laps, 8 laps, 12 laps, 14 laps and 18 laps. This means for UTMB there are 6 races.
Cost: £30
