This Street Orienteering event is centred around Crawshawbooth, north of Rawtenstall. using an OpenOrienteering map at 1:10000 scale.
There is one score course for all competitors with a 60 minute time limit. There will not be any physical SI controls on the course. All control sites will be on street furniture etc, with written answers of letters/numbers.
Controls will have varying points values (10, 20, ..... 64) depending upon the distance and difficulty. There will be 1 penalty point deducted for each 3 seconds that you are late, which is equivalent to 20 points deducted per minute late.
This event is pre-entry and pre-pay only. See entry details below. There will be NO Registration and NO entry on the day.
Entries are as Solo (£4.00), Pair (£6.00) or Trio (£7.00). For age guidance and other information, see the PFO website for this event. Entries will close at 12:00 noon the day BEFORE the event.
Covid security is the responsibility of the competitor, though we recommend observing simple social distancing and other courtesies. Other safety procedures should be observed:
- Give way to members of the public and other competitors throughout your visit.
- There are numerous road crossings on the course, take care at all times.
- Run wide around corners.
- Wear hi-viz so that you can be seen.
- Move away from control sites as quickly as possible.
