HotPot Regional Pendle Hill (Day 1) offers colour coded courses for all standards of orienteer from experts to novices.
Kerbside parking on Barley New Road, which runs east from Barley village. What3Words coordinate: ///buying.montage.wrist
Pendle Hill is open moreland charaterised by grassy peat and run-off channels on top, steeper sides with grass and heather, thicker vegetation and some woodland in the lower reaches.
When selecting your start block, take into consideration that it is 2k and 250m climb to the Start from Parking. This can take 30 to 40 minutes. The Finish is 1k from Parking, all downhill
The event area is exposed with little or no shelter available in the first two-thirds of your course. Waterproof, hooded jackets must be carried, unless specifically relaxed by the Controller.
Pendle Hill is very popular with walkers and runners. Please give way to other users.
Further event details can be found on the PFO event webpage.
