BB KONG is a classic short horseshoe from Threlkeld up onto Blencathra and across to Blease Fell and back.
The race begins from Threlkeld village, up the road past the primary school, before branching out up the footpath to the fell gate, turning right across fields to reach the foot of Doddick Fell. From here, it is a relentless climb to the top of Blencathra. A super fast dash across the top towards Blease Fell, your final checkpoint, before plummeting back down the extremely steep grassy slopes to the finish. Your quads will be screaming by the end of the descent!!
Venue – Salutation Inn, Threlkeld (GR 322253)
Race start – Tuesday 10th August 7pm, from Salutation Inn, Threlkeld.
The race is approximately 5 miles and has approximately 2,500 feet of ascent.
It is open to anyone aged 16 and over but those under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
