Final round of Scottish Hill Runners championship.

Scottish Athletics senior championship.

Race limit - 200

No entries on the day

Registration is open from 10:00 to 11:00 and will be located in the Dingwall leisure centre car park.

Can I ask that folk park in the ample free parking in Dingwall and walk the 5 mins to the leisure centre, just so we don't take up all of the leisure centre parking spaces.

The race start is just behind Tulloch Castle which is a 10 mins (max) walk up from the leisure centre. Please do not park in the Tulloch Castle car park.

12:00 sharp is the start time for the adults, 12:10 for the juniors.

In order to make the race happen we had to commit some time ago to not booking an indoor venue, so unfortunately there won't be tea and cake and prize giving this year ... next year though !

Finally as it's October you will need to carry full kit. No exceptions and no excuses.

Looking forward to seeing you all on race day !

The Senior race starts at 12:00 sharp from just behind Tulloch Castle, and Juniors will start at 12:10
from the same place.

The Alex Brett Memorial Cioch Mhor Hill Race will be held on 9th October 2021. The race is a 14km long "out and back" with approx. 660m of ascent.  While much of the route follows a fixed line (which must be adhered to!) there is a significant descent / ascent where runners can choose their own trajectory.  The course threads a trail from the bustling metropolis of Dingwall up and over farmland before crossing the Abhainn Sgitheach (Hawthorn River) and out into the wilds.  Beinn Uais (Ben Wyvis - I've found a few translations - "Awesome Mountain" is a favourite), which dominates the horizon, looms large over proceedings providing the perfect backdrop.

A few wee changes are likely ... registration, start & finish will be in the field (the one with the stile at the top) to avoid everyone spreading covid in the leisure centre or packed together on the track behind the castle. Prizegiving might be a tall order as there will be a ton of results to process and while hanging around in a warm games hall is one thing, hanging around a field in October is quite another.

The Junior race route is also an "out and back" with the turning point at the trig point on Cnoc a' Bhreacaich (Speckled Hill ? Answers on a postcard please).  There will be a kit check at the start, please have everything with you...

Mandatory kit

Waterproof jacket with attached hood, waterproof trousers, hat, gloves, map of the course, compass and whistle.
