Bowland Fell Runners are delighted to announce the second running of the Waddington Fell Race.
Following registration at the Village Club on Clitheroe Road (BB7 3HW) the race begins in the field behind the Lower Buck pub (350 yards from registration) and is an out and back route to the trig point, the highest point on Waddington Fell.
A challenging BM route of 6.6m/10.62km with 1,062ft/324m of climb, taking in farm tracks, fields and rough wet moorland. The route is partially flagged and marshalled. This race has a Permit and associated UK Athletics insurance from the Fell Runners Association (FRA), please be prepared to bring full race kit (waterproof jacket & trousers, hat, gloves, map, compass, whistle, emergency food). Limited to 120 runners, no entry on the day.
Any proceeds will be given to Bowland Mountain Rescue who will provide support on the day.
The race starts at 2:00pm, presentations and food will follow in the Village Club afterwards. Please remove any muddy shoes before entering. Parking is limited so please car share and park considerately. There is limited free public parking on Twitter Lane.
