British MTBO Middle Distance Championships, part of the Moravian Orienteering Club MTBO Weekend. Saturday morning middle distance event held in Culbin, Kintessack. To be competetive in the British Middle Distance Championships please enter your appropriate age class. Other riders can enter any of the 3 open courses.
Course A: 13km (Open, M/W18 - M/W60)
Course B: 10km (Open, M/W16, M/W70+)
Course C: 6km (Open, M/W10, M/W12, M/W14) (It is advised that U14s are shadowed)
Culbin is a vast area of pine forest covering sand dunes. There is a regular forest road network crossed by irregular smaller paths. In dry conditions some trails become sandy. The highest dunes raise about 30m above the surrounding terrain.
Pre entries only. A MTBO middle distance course. Starts between 09.30 and 10.30 with courses closing at 11.30.
British Mountain Bike Orienteering (BMBO)
This event is registered and insured through BMBO. Anyone is able to participate but if you wish to join BMBO please register at https://www.bmbo.org.uk/.
Adults membership £8/year or you can register as day rider for free. U21 free.
This event is organised by Steve Smirthwaite (BMBO member MTB006289) and members of Moravian Orienteering Club. The club will follow MTBO guidelines but also the more comprehensive guidelines produced by Scottish Orienteering and British Orienteering Federation.
Everyone who attends must follow the Participation Codes of Conduct of the British Orienteering Federation.
