Spring Intro Event at Stubbylee and Moorland Parks in Bacup. The Yellow and Orange courses are introductory courses specifically aimed at novices and juniors. Experienced orienteers will find the Light Green (Technical) course "interesting" and challenging.

The park is also home to the Stubbylee Community Greenhouses and the Stables Cafe. Both are staffed by volunteer trainees. Hopefully, both will be open after your run.

Important note: This is an AFTERNOON event with first starts at 13:00. The late start enables anyone who participates in other Saturday morning sports to engage in both activities.

Following British Orienteering advice concerning Covid-19 restrictions, this event is pre-entry and pre-pay only. See entry details below.

PFO Covid Security Measures: We have adopted extra procedures at all our events both for your safety and the safety of others.

Keeping apart is important in preventing virus transmission.

  • Entry on-line only. There will be NO Registration and NO entry on the day.
  • Do not leave your vehicle until your start block time.
  • Wear a face covering, e.g. Buff, at all times other than when you are competing.
  • Hand sanitiser will be available.
  • There will be an individual 2m queuing system in place at the Start and at Download.
  • There will be no loose control descriptions. They are on the map as usual and can be downloaded in advance.
  • After finishing, go straight to Download. Observe the 2m queuing system.
  • Before and after your run, minimise contact with others. The rule of 6 applies in outdoor settings, unless you are from the same household or support bubble. Keep 2m apart and wear your face covering.
  • Return to your vehicle ASAP.

Conduct whilst competing:

  • Give way to members of the public and other competitors. Keep 2m apart.
  • Move away from controls after punching.

Everyone who attends will need to follow the 'Participant Code of Conduct' which can be found on the British Orienteering website here
