The idea for the modern marathon comes from the Greek legend of the messenger Pheidippides. In 490 B.C. he ran from Marathon to Athens with the news of the Greek victory over the Persians, a distance of around 26 miles.
We have designed a limited edition marathon coin to celebrate this legend.
Pheidippides is on one side with modern runners on the other with the inspirational words - Dream Believe Achieve.
If you believe in yourself you can achieve your dreams.
To get one of these coins, all you have to do is finish the marathon distance in one run, send proof to Atlasrunning and we will send you your coin.
