We return to Tenantry Farm for the perfect start to your 2021 running season. 5k, 10k and half marathon courses take in the stunning countryside in this beautiful rural area. Medals for all, trophies for the top three.
Tricounties trail running offer this great event to get the season off to a flying start for runners of all abilities. Building on the success of our event last year we welcome you once again to Tenantry farm, just south of Salisbury.
New for this year is a 5k race. This is designed to offer non-runners and recent starters to trail running a chance to try this fabulous sport. It's also open to children of 12 and over under UK AA guidelines, so fun for the whole family!
The course is wonderful. Starting and finishing at the same point as the longer races, it takes competitors round a beautiful loop within the boundaries of Tenantry farm. No roads, no road crossings, just a varied course of woodland trails, field margins and farm tracks. It has a total accent of 65m, and the course is so planned to avoid mud and puddles where ever possible. I'm also pleased to say dogs on leads are allowed!
The 10k and half marathon courses take runners on varied courses starting and finishing at Tenantry Farm. The routes are 95% trail, taking in a variety of terrain over unspoilt farmland, footpaths and bridleways.
Good car parking and loos are available at the start, where registration starts at 08.00. Hot food and drinks are available all day. Start times will be allocated once runners enter.
As the name implies, the courses take competitors over the undulating downland that is characteristic of the area, offering wonderful views of the surrounding countryside as well as ancient woodland, quaint cottages and historic sites. The routes are well marked, and well stocked aid stations at strategic points along the way keep the runners fuelled.
The event is fully insured, and a professional team of medics in attendance. We ask all competitors to follow the countryside code, and carry a mobile phone, preferably with the what3words app. Runners are welcome to run with their dogs on leads on the 5k course, but not on the 10k or HM. We ask for them to be kept on leads whilst at the start/finish area.
Due to the Corona virus situation we have had to make many adaptations to the way we run our events. Social distancing, staggered start times, and a lack of refreshments are but some of the policies we have had to adopt to ensure safety for all our competitors and volunteers. Further details will be passed on to competitors as the event draws closer.
We ask you to give your predicted time for your race. This will help us to band runners so the minimum amount of passing takes place on the course.
We will split each race into bands and notify you by email as to which band you are in prior to the event. We need the start to run as smoothly as possible, and also minimise the number of people waiting for the off, so its important we stick rigidly to our schedule.
