First run in 2016 to support the pubs and shops following the loss of the Bridge in the Cumbria floods. This event is open to walkers and runners - all speeds welcome - just start in the right time 'window'.
The primary aim was to remind people how beautiful Pooley Bridge and Ullswater is, and how it had suffered following the loss of it's famous bridge. The route remains a corker and a fun day out for everyone. Come and enjoy and good run or walk, whatever you speed. This is a family friendly event. Please note the family group entry categories; family groups and friends, NOT club members.
In Brief:
Free tea, coffee and cold drinks and a tray bake will be available in the Village Hall post walk / run to all participants. And of course, there are pubs and cafes in Pooley for post race refuelling.
And finally
Fingers crossed Covid and travel restrictions allow us all to travel. It would be easy to say, 'Lets not bother this year' but we've always needed something to aim for and this year it's double important. All our events are outdoor based, have 'rolling starts', are low key and tend to have been socially distanced. No intrusive kit check, briefings or unnecessary faff.
This event offers the option to purchase Refund Protect. Participants can choose to cover their inability to attend with Refund Protect.
