Event Organiser - Mark and Steve

The only definites at present are that we can run alone, but we still need that sense of urgency and motivation to get out there and hit the trails. It’s as much about our mental welfare as our physical.

Our SOLO events are designed to be run ‘alone’ or with ONE other person from your support network or bubble (this may be modified by ongoing Government directives).

We will provide you with online maps, a gpx file and route guidance for each event. We will share your journey through a dedicated Social Media Event page and through your link to *STRAVA* so we can see in real-time your ongoing progress and achievement. Photos of your journey can be uploaded for a pictorial account of your adventure.

The Format:

Each event will be of ONE calendar month in duration.

Each event can be completed either as a ONE-day or MULTI-day Challenge. It’s entirely up to you!

Enter individual SOLO Challenges or all three to become the SOLO SERIES overall winner.. (Results and final finishing list will be published shortly after each Challenge’s timeframe elapses).

Data from *STRAVA* will be used to verify the event. ‘Total Time Elapsed’ data only so please be aware of this – ‘Moving Time Only’ data will not be recognised as a valid form of verification.

Bespoke Puretrail SOLO event Certificate and Puretrail Buff for every SOLO competitor to complete a Challenge event within the allotted timeframe (one calendar month).

Finishers of each respective Challenge will be entitled to a 10% discount on the cost of the Official Race later in 2021.

After your entry is made you will receive initial confirmation and a further email will be sent with the maps and GPX files to download.

51 hallucinogenic miles from Nether Stowey, in north-western Somerset to Lynmouth on the North Devon coast. (The route can be run in either direction for the SOLO event).

Following the waymarked Coleridge Way long-distance footpath across the Quantock Hills and Exmoor, made famous by the romantic poet, philosopher and theologian Samuel Coleridge. It was his meanderings across this incredibly stunning landscape, quite often under the influence of Opium which lead to the outpouring of some of his most influential work and lead to the emergence of the Romantic Poet movement. Coleridge lived for many years in Nether Stowey, Somerset (The start of the April event).

The fully waymarked route traverses the Quantock Hills and contours the upland expanses of Exmoor before a final flurry down deep along the Lyn Valley Gorge to the coastal town of Lynmouth.

The route crosses a varied array of terrain, from woodland glades and riverside trails, to windswept moorland fringes. The Coleridge Way signage is excellent and easily navigable, following its own very distinguishable quill pen (feather) waymarkers.

We have a new race planned for April, but as an insight and recce/challenge, we are presenting this as a SOLO event during the month of January with a further two SOLO events planned for February and March 2021.
