Some of the options for this event are not currently available so waiting lists are being used for these options. To get a waiting list entry for one of these options just enter as normal. No payment is required at this stage as there is no guarantee of being offered a place. If the Event Organiser is able to offer you a place they will send you an email inviting you to enter. Please come and join us for The Grindleford Gallop 2021 on Saturday 9th October 2021, an event open to both walkers and runners.  We hope you enjoy the 21 mile circular route through some of Derbyshire's finest countryside and we look forward to seeing you afterwards for filling home-made soup, cakes and drinks at the Bishops Pavilion, Grindleford.

The entry fee covers drinks and snacks at checkpoints, hot food and drinks at the finish and your electronic race tag hire.

A technical t-shirt, designed by a pupil from Grindleford Primary School, will be available for purchase for £10 during your application.

All proceeds from this event are in aid of Grindleford Primary School PTA.

As some COVID restrictions are likely to still being in place in March we are planning to make some changes to how the event usually takes place in order to make it a "COVID-safe environment" as per the Fell Runners Association COVID guidelines.  The number of race entries is likely to be reduced from 600 to 400 and there will also be staggered starts (walkers 7-8am and runners 8-10am) in order to allow social distancing to be followed more easily.  Details of your start time will be emailed to you nearer the day.

The exact route is yet to be confirmed so may be slightly different to the usual one but we will let you know if this is the case and sign the changes clearly on the day.

Because of the restrictions and reduced numbers we have decided to increase the entry fee to £25 to cover extra costs and to ensure that we raise the much needed funds for our primary school.  The usual snacks, drinks and legendary soup will still be provided on a take-away basis.

All entrants must be at least 16 years of age and will not be allowed to participate if under this age. All under 18's must be accompanied by an adult and must declare their age on the entry form.  Max age of entry is 89 years.

We have a "no dogs" policy on the entire course due to the route passing through a number of bird nesting areas and also for the safety of all entrants.
