Wild swimming on Loch Ken has taken off in the last few years and as part of the Barnado's annual charity weekend we will be hosting our Night Swim on Loch Ken. The event will be held on Friday 10th September with the option to enter either the 500m or 1km event. Safety cover will be provided by Galloway Activity Centre who have been running the Loch Ken Wild Swim for 7 years.
Loch Ken is becoming known as one of the best wild swimming venues in Scotland with clean, clear waters running down from the Rhinns of Kells in the Galloway Hills. This event is a fantastic opportunity to enjoy night swimming in a stunning environment with the added reassurance of safety cover on hand.
Included in the cost is an illuminated tow float, swim cap and safety cover. There will also be a hot chocolate and sausage roll for afterwards included in the cost. We aim to keep the event as dark as possible but along with the tow floats, the course buoys will be illuminated and the safety boats will be lit with glow sticks. Wetsuits are compulsory for the event.
