Due to COVID we are offering our SECOND EVER Hardmoors virtual event.

We are offering the chance to run a route equivalent to the Goathland distance.

Marathon: 27 miles

Half Marathon: 16 miles

10k: 8 miles

You can do this any time between now and the end of December. If you have transferred from the actual race then you know which distance you are doing. New entrants can choose a distance and all entrants can run a route either close to home or on the North York moors. Please do not turn up in Goathland on 7th November, for obvious reasons and we would not condone anyone travelling where it is not advised to do so.

We recognise that the price is steep for a virtual race, but this is because it is not fair for someone who has paid for the real race to pay more than a virtual entrant. So we will give a proportion of your entry fee to Mountain Rescue.

£5 for Marathon

£3 for Half Marathon

£1 for 10k

What do you get for your money?

  • Ready-made route which is on the Hardmoors website (if you choose to use it and are able under Government COVID regulations to do so)
  • Technical Hardmoors t shirt (posted to you)
  • Race medal (posted to you)
  • Donation to Mountain Rescue who have not had as many donations overall this year
  • £1 of your race fee will go to North York Moors who are also lacking in donations from us this year due to races being deferred until 2021

Please note that t shirts & medal will not be posted until  January.

The main thing about this event and in the true ethos of Hardmoors is its all about completing the challenge whether that be the 8 miles or 27 miles.

The leaderboard and results wont always tell the fiull story. Some of us can get to the hills, trails, moors etc to run a hilly muddy course simillar to the route or even on the route itself. Others due to time restraints, work, lack of transport, sheilding, etc have had to run their distance on a treadmill, back streets of a flat town/city etc.

Results are impossible to compare unless ran on the same course and on the same day.

Results are for ourselves, a way of testing ourselves against our previous times, whatever they may be, be proud, you got off your backside and pushed yourself to complete your challenge!

Adding your result:
Once you have completed the distance, Edit your Entry and record your time.  Remember to click NEXT, tick the disclaimers and SAVE ENTRY and then your time and current position will appear on the Leader Board
