LUNDY ISLAND – A completely new and unique Trail running

Timings of the race and mandatory kit requirements are below. please read all the information below before proceeding with your entry.

The non-Raceboat entry provides Race entry on the island and a coveted Lundy Island T-shirt.

We've all heard of it and most of us know where it is, roughly. But very few of us have run over it and nobody had ever raced on it....... until the inaugural event in July 2018, which had amazing feedback. This is what makes the Lundy Island Race the most unique Trail running experience we have created so far. 13.5 miles of pristine, wildlife encrusted tracks tended by the Landmark Trust are open for us to run, walk and crawl.

You will visit all 3 lighthouses traversing the undulating eastern and western clifftops, cling to the precipitous slopes and run along the central spine of the island (as well as a few sidetracks).

You will definitely discover this beautiful and rugged island in all its glorious entirety, on foot and at your own pace.

We've procured the MS Oldenburg to get you to the island ship-shape relaxed and ready to go. The boat will take 250 runners. So when it is full, so is the race (unless you travel on the scheduled service the day before and stay longer).

The Lundy 'Raceboat'* (FULL) will depart Ilfracombe harbour at 9am and arrive at Lundy at 11am. Race starts 12:15pm and the 'Race boat'* will depart Lundy at 6pm and arrive Ilfracombe at 8pm

*please note that the Boat is solely for runners entered in The Lundy Island Race. Times may vary slightly from that published.

Upon arrival you will walk up to race HQ in the village (approx. 15 minutes) to register and collect race number and Lundy Island Race t-shirt.

Registration will on the village green outside the Marisco Tavern. This is also the start and finish of the race and the First Aid Station.

Each entrant will receive a Day Return Trip to the island aboard the MS Oldenburg, an event t-shirt and every finisher will receive the much coveted Lundy Island Race medal.

The race will be fully marked and marshalled with first aid on course and at race HQ. Two Aid Stations, one at the North Lighthouse, down those steps!

Raceboat is a chartered ferry for Runners and marshals only. There is no room for foot passengers.

Dogs are not allowed on Lundy Island.

MANDATORY KIT-LIST required :-

- Capacity to carry 250ml of water (cups will not be provided by pureTrail)
- Whistle
- Trail shoes
- Head cover (buff/cap/hat)
- Waterproof jacket

The Race Director's decision is final.

LUNDY ISLAND RACE - Raceboat Entries

No name transfers are allowed on the Raceboat entry.

Should the ferry be cancelled for reasons outside our control we will refund 40% of the entry fee by way of a goodwill gesture.

Competitor Withdrawal Policy

We will refund 75% of the entry fee by way of a goodwill gesture until 31st March 2021.

The refund will be 50% if you decide to withdraw from the race, up until 18th August 2021. 

NO refunds will be provided after 18th August 2021.

Non-Raceboat entrants can change the name of the entrant on Sientries using Edit Entry before 18th August 2021. The person must make their own way to the island.
