We are hosting a 50 mile Ultra Marathon in and around the Furness Peninsula. This route will start and finish at Walney School, Walney Island and will take in part of the Cumbria Coastal Way, the Cumbrian Way and the Walney to Whitby trail. There will be rocky beach sections, there will be sandy beach sections. There will be tarmac cycle ways and there will be lots of hills. The BIF 50 gives you a grand tour of the Furness area taking in towns and villages such as Kirkby in Furness, Ulverston, Urswick, Dalton and Barrow. Join us in September for this incredible journey and see the Furness area in all its glory.

All finishers will receive a bespoke BIF 50 medal, technical t-shirt and race goody bag.

We are sad to have to announce that our 2020 BIF 50 Ultra Marathon has been postponed until 2021. We have been holding out for as long as possible and keeping an eye on all of the government announcements & guidelines but we can no longer put off the decision. In order to ensure the safety of runners and volunteers as well as adhering to the restrictions that are in place, we have put the event back to next year now.  The date for 2021 will be Sunday 25th September.

For those who still want to grab some shiny bling in September, we have a 'Virtual Run' Option and the entry fee will be just £20. This is to cover cost of the medal, t-shirt and the cost of postage.
If you would like to take part in a virtual run, 'simply' run 50 miles at a location of your choosing and add your finish time to the SiEntries Results List, and then we'll get your medal posted out to you.
We'll share photos and routes on our Facebook page, and also to our website - if you would like your run to be shared, please send us a finish photo to:

If you have any questions or concerns please contact us either via email, Facebook, or contact myself on 07508124580.
