The Port Erin Festival of the Sea takes place over the weekend of the 29th-30th August with swimming, kayak fishing and dinghy racing events as well as beach games, bands, food stalls and a variety of stands.  A great weekend for the whole family.

Junior (12+):  A parent or guardian must be present with you at the briefing and to sign confirmation of your capability to compete in the event, and remain at the event while you compete.

Placing: Places will be given for 1st, 2nd and 3rd in Male and Female, Junior, Novice & Senior, in wetsuit and non-wetsuit categories.  Presentation will take place at the Beach Festival site following the event.

Event Fee:  The entry fee covers the swim, insurance and support cover.  Finishers will receive a souvenir for participating.

Information:  You will receive an email confirming your entry.  Further emails containing additional information will be sent in the days leading up to the event.

Stroke: Swimmers may use any stroke.

Charities: Swimmers may swim for a charity of their choice.

Wetsuits:  As the water temperature may be below 15 degrees, a properly fitted wetsuit provides extra buoyancy, warmth and speed to the swimmer.  You may choose to swim without a wetsuit if you feel within your capabilities to do so and sign to this effect on the day of entry (parents/guardians must sign for juniors).

Routes and distances: The distances provided are approximate distances ‘overland’ only.  The actual routes for Junior and Senior events will be advised at the briefing prior to each swim with the route marked by a series of buoys, fixed rafts or flagged boats to swim around.  Failure to navigate round a buoy may result in disqualification.

Reserve Date:  Should it be necessary to cancel the event due to weather conditions the event will be run on a date to be confirmed later in the season or, if that is not possible, a partial refund will be given.
