We are happy to announce our Friday night coaching sessions are to start back on Friday 10th July. Due the ongoing requirement of social distancing and restriction in group sizes, we have a maximum of 30 swimmers. Social distancing will need to be adhered to at all times, including registration, briefing and entering and exiting the water. It will be a little different than normal, but due to us being outside and having plenty of room at the beautiful venue of Fell Foot Park, we should all be able to socially distance safely, whilst still enjoying our Open Water Swimming.

This is a group coaching session (block of 6 sessions) with kayak safety support at Fell Foot Park. We have six sessions (£39.50) from the July 10th. This is an ideal session for anyone looking to get more into open water swimming, but you should already have gained some experience either on an intro course or similar and with a reasonable confident swimming ability (if you are very novice, it would be advisable to attend one of our Open Water Introduction sessions).

Minimum age is 12, but must be a club level swimmer & have swum open water before. Please email me info@sleekerswim.co.uk if you wish to discuss further or have any questions.

This is a weekly session every Friday 7pm – 7.45/8pm.

One off sessions are available at £8.50 per session, but you will need to book in advance to ensure there is space.

Bookings will close at midnight on the Thursday night before each session.

The group will be split in two or three groups of similar ability swimmers with two coaches.

It is also an ideal session for swimmers wanting to gain confidence in open water swims or for regular open water swimmers wanting some open water practice in a group environment and a great way to get swimming fit.

If you are very nervous and completely new to open water, it would be advisable to attend one of the Open Water Introduction sessions with a 1:4 ratio of coach to swimmer, which also includes a theory session. (2.5 hr session).

Provisional Agenda for 5 weeks

Week 1 – Acclimatisation to first Open Water session, Introduction & open water skills – work as one group for first session with differentiation for abilities.

Week 2 – Warm up, open water skills session and assign groups.

Week 3 – Warm up, open water skills in groups in assigned groups and longer reps (option).

Week 4 – Warm up, open water skills in groups and long swim option with extra buoys.

Week 5 –  Warm up, open water skills in groups and specific race prep for swimmers (optional).

Week 6 – Warm up, open water skills in groups and long swim option with extra buoys or timed swim option

Please arrive at 6.40pm if it is your first session as, you will need to complete a registration form (PARQ sent online once registered). Once you have completed your PARQ form, this only needs to be done once and will be kept on file for the rest of the summer, you will however need to sign in each week. You will also require a bright hat to swim. We do have SleekerSwim bright orange/green hats for sale for £2.50.

Wetsuit hire is also available at £10 per hire, but also option of hire for an event and sessions. Please let me know in advance if this is required.
