An 82 mile Ultramarathon along the Dales Way.
The Highlights
- Endorsed by The Dales Way Association. http://www.dalesway.org/
- 30 hours to complete the 82 Mile Course.
- 7 fully stocked checkpoints.
- First Aid cover by Exile Medics. https://exile-medics.com/
- Entry fee includes hire of a GPS tracker for each entrant.
- Start in Bowness-on-Windermere and finish in Ilkley.
- Special Bus service available from Ilkley on Saturday morning to the start (£10 per person not included in entry fee).
- Hot meal at the finish.
- Drop bag service to CP4 and finish (must be self labelled).
- Entry fee includes £10 donations to both the Dales Way Association for upkeep of the route and also to Dales Way Buses who provide a vital service to allow people without cars to access the Dales.
- Event T-Shirt for all entrants that report to the Finish.
- Finishers Medal for those that complete the course.
- Certificate for everyone that completes the course.
- Race is registered with ITRA/UTMB with 4 points.
Compulsory Kit List - A kit check will be carried out at a random checkpoint and you will be asked to produce one of the following, if you are found not to have it on you, you will be disqualified.
- Waterproof Jacket with taped seams.
- Map of route (or recommended guide book available from https://www.skyware.co.uk/).
- Head Torch.
- 1 Litre of fluids (2 recommended)
- PLASTIC CUP – or something to drink from.
- Energy Bar/Nutrition.
- Survival Blanket.
- Whistle.
- Mobile phone with race directors number (tel: 07950008005) stored in it.
- Hat/buff.
- Gloves.
- Personal First Aid Kit.
You may book the bus to the start seperately nearer the event if you wish, a reminder will be sent via email.
Checkpoints
All have toilets apart from the Start (please use toilets on The Glebe) and Beckfoot. Please note not all toilets are free, so you will need some 20p pieces! Please do not improvise in towns and especially on the Bolton Abbey Estate. Their toilets are being left open all night especially for us.
Registration: Bowness-on-Windermere (The Glebe) from 7.15am to 8.15am. Those coming by bus will be registered on the bus. 40p Toilets at Registration. There are no toilets at the start PLEASE GO BEFORE GOING TO THE START
Start Bowness-on-Windermere (Field at top of Brantfell Road) 8.30am
CP1 Burneside (The Bryce Institute) 9.6miles.
Opens 9.45am, Closes 12.45pm.

CP6 Grassington (National Park Car Park) 63 miles.
Opens 5.30pm Saturday, Closes 3pm Sunday

CP7 Bolton Abbey (Gazebo opposite the Cavendish Pavillion) 73 miles.
Opens 7pm Saturday, Closes 6pm Sunday.

Please note Bolton Abbey is closed to vehicles between 9pm and 9am, during these times support vehicles/spectators should go to Bardon Bridge where there is a small roadside car park but no toilets.
CP2 and CP7 are on the Dales Way, all other CPs will be signed from the Dales Way and you must retrace your steps to rejoin the Dales Way
FINISH Ilkley (Marquee on Tennis and Squash Club field).
Opens 8pm, Closes 8.30pm Sunday.

Please note the Dales Way ends about 100 metres past the Finish, you have to go past the finish to the end and then come back to the finish for your time.
This event is covered by Event Protect. If the event is cancelled, you can apply for a refund directly from Event Protect provided the cancellation is covered by their insurance policy.
This event offers the option to purchase Refund Protect. Participants can choose to cover their inability to attend with Refund Protect.
