Corronavirus. Entrants will be added to pre-selection list until January when they will then be invited to pay Entry fees.

26 mile or 18 mile route over forest tracks, paths, grassy rides, woods, and heathland with lovely open views. Navigation skills required to find a route between check-point grid references in correct order.

Entrants for the 26 mile walk may opt for a guided walk led by a member of the Wessex Group. A limited number of spaces available for this option. 

Entry Fee:  
£10.00 LDWA Members or £20.00 Non Members ( £5 extra for all entries “on the day”). 

OTD entries only accepted if the event is not full. Please check online before making journey.

Fee includes refreshments at manned checkpoints, (Please bring your own mug) and hot meal  at the finish.

Free car parking available at Village Hall but not enough for all entrants to travel seperately. Prioirity given to car sharers.Please car share where possible

Start: 08:00 for Walkers.

           09:00 for Runners.                                                                                                                       


07:00 - 07:45 for Walkers

08:10 - 08:45 for Runners. 

Finish Time:            
All entrants to finish by 17:30hrs. 
A certificate will be awarded to all who finish within the 17:30 cut off time limit

Route maps and GPS downloads available on website by 1st December (but check for updates before partaking). 

Terms & Conditions for Entry

  1. Entrants to follow the advised route, visit checkpoints in prescribed order and ensure their arrival at manned checkpoints is noted by Marshals.

  2. Entrants to ensure all checkpoint numbers are noted on their checkpoint card.

  3. Maximum time limits and checkpoint closing times will be enforced.

  4. All entrants who retire should report to the nearest checkpoint where possible or contact the emergency number supplied to arrange transport back to the finish.

  5. Entrants must carry a map and compass/GPS, a mug for drinks at checkpoints and a pen/pencil to write on checkpoint card.

  6. Entrants to follow the Countryside Code at all times.

  7. Initially car parking is limited to 120, car sharing would be appreciated. . 

  8. Dogs are not permitted unless registered assistance dogs.

  9. Minimum age of 18 unless accompanied by a responsible adult.

  10. Entrants confirm they have sufficient knowledge, experience and navigational skills to take part in this long distance challenge in the prevailing weather conditions.

  11. Entrants confirm they are in good health and have no medical condition(s) that may cause undue concern or inconvenience to the organisers or others.

  12. Entrants participate at their own risk and are aware that no liability is accepted by the organisers for injury, damage or loss sustained by the entrant before, during or after the event.
