Mojo Racing Duo Youth Race is coming back to Lower Gockett Farm, Monmouthshire this time as a 2-day festival-style event. Unlike cycle centres this race has a very natural feel with 4 stages running across the fields and into the woods. This is a team event consisting of two riders, a youth and an adult (parent/guardian) with both competitors riding together. There will be four stages on offer with the youngsters doing three stages. All teams can ride each stage as many times as they wish within the allotted time but all stages must be completed at least once. Fastest time from each stage will be recorded. Spectators and other family members are very welcome to join us for the weekend.
On the Saturday we are running a fun bike-activity day to include workshops, demo’s and a head-to-head knockout slalom all finished with a delicious dinner and a couple of pints in the evening sun. We have booked Blackberry Event Catering to provide all the food for the weekend. Ingredients are sourced from local producers and all packaging is recyclable. Saturday dinner is a choice between a Lamb or vegetable curry, please select the number of dinner tokens you will require when you book and how many veggies are in your party. The curry will not be too spicy so children can enjoy it but extra spice will be available for those who like it hot! Over the course of the weekend we will be running a small cash bar offering a beer and cider option, soft drinks, tea and coffee.
Sunday is Race Day with 4 stages through the farm fields and woodland. SPORTident will be with us for the duration of the race to provide their timing and rapid results service. We want to welcome people who are new to racing but also offer a great collection of tracks for the seasoned competitive riders. Above all this is a family event, have fun and be safe. Racing will be between 10.30am –and 1.30pm after which we invite you to hang out in the field, where Blackberry Catering will be providing a choice of soup, roll and a variety of delicious cakes, all to be purchased on the day. Sit back and indulge in some post race chat. We plan to have the prize-giving as soon after 1.30pm on Sunday afternoon as possible.
Camping is available on site. Please be aware this is not a luxury campsite, it is a field on a farm with a fantastic view. Price includes up to 2 nights (Friday and Saturday), for up to 4 people, in one vehicle. For vehicles not camping there is a small parking fee which covers you for both days to be paid in cash on arrival.
