LochNess360° Challenge
A new 3 day festival of running and cycling based around iconic Loch Ness on the new LochNess360ﹾ trail developed by linking the Great Glen Way on the north side of Loch Ness with the South Loch Ness Trail, completed in 2018, on the south side.
Approximately 90% of the trail is off road on a mixture of built trail, rough tracks and forest paths. Fantastic varied scenery, particularly on the South Loch Ness trail with superb views down on to Loch Ness.
The event offers participants the choice of:
The total ascent around the LochNess360ﹾ is over 3000m. Even the ‘easiest’ marathon has over 700 metres of ascent – to complete any of these events requires a high level of fitness
Ultramarathon - 29th May 2021
If three marathons over three days is not hard core enough for you, we have the ultimate challenge, the LochNess360ﹾ Challenge Ultra Marathon – 129km and over 3000m of ascent within a time limit of 24 hours.
Following the entire route of the LochNess360ﹾ Trail, to take part you must not only be very experienced in off road trail running but also have experience of completing long ultra marathons (88km plus).
The event will start from the village of Dores late on the evening of the second day of the LochNess360ﹾ Challenge.
