  •  The Lets Run Adventures Tandem Double Day Night  will take place on 25th and 26th July 2020 starting and finishing at Goathland Village Hall on the North Yorkshire Moors 

The event is a challenge event open to runners and walkers with a time limit of 20 hours. As per the Tandem one participant goes East and one West. However on the Double when they return as a pair to Goathland for the first time, they then go back out and do their opposite numbers route.

On each loop both participants start from  Goathland VH and then split onto their respective route,they  then join back up again at Newton upon Rawcliffe Village Hall and complete the last part of the route together.

On each occasion the last part of the route from the meet up point must be done as a pair.

Registration will take place from 11:am to 11:45 with a mass start at 12 noon.

All competitors must have left Newton Upon Rawcliffe Village hall by 6 am on Sunday morning anyone who fails to do this will be withdrawn from the event. 

In all participants will cover around 60 miles and ascend around 7 thousand feet.

 The following mandatory equipment must be worn or carried.

  • Head torch with spare batteries.
  • Full waterproof body cover.
  • Hat and gloves.
  • Long sleeved thermal top.
  • Spare insulation jacket.
  • Emergency survival bag.
  • 500 mls of fluid.
  • Spare food.
  • Charged mobile phone & organisers mobile phone number.
  • Map OSL 27 or equivalent.
  • Working compass.
  • Whistle.
  • Mug for drinks at CP.

This is the minimum that must be carried and it is recommended that spares are also included.

Each participant will be asked to sign to sat that they have the full kit requirement, There will be a random check during the event and anyone found not to be carrying the mandatory kit will be withdrawn from the event. 

It is also recommended that participants have OS Locate and  what3words loaded onto their mobile phones. 

This is a self navigation event so it is expected that entrants will be competent navigators with map and compass in day and night conditions.

A suggested route will be marked on a map at the start. Participants can pick their own route between checkpoint locations as long as they are all visited in the correct order and public rights of way are used. 

Each competitor will have the CP locations printed on their number and these need to be clipped at each one either by the competitor or CP Marshall.

There will be snacks and drinks at some of the checkpoint locations and hot food and drinks at the halfway point and finish. 

All participants who finish The Tandem Double as a pair will receive a badge and a momento of their achievement. 

Maximum of 50 pairs.  No entries on the day. 

There is no participant parking at Goathland Village Hall, public car parks within the village should be used.
