We are very sorry, but all of the remaining autumn Peak Raid events have been cancelled.
We tried to put on the events following the return to sport guidelines, but the major landowners have refused permission - as a result of the rising concerns of the coronavirus situation. We apologise for any inconvenience our decision may cause.

Please note that the Peak Raid3 events follow the Government’s guidance on gatherings, public spaces, and outdoor activities, and the phased return of outdoor sport and recreation.

It is possible that this guidance may change at any time, which could mean that events are cancelled at short notice or locations are changed.

Peak Raid 3 is a series of four, challenging 3-hour score events. Think fell running requiring good route choice and navigation skills. The Autumn Series uses a variety of terrain; from tough high moorland requiring accurate navigation to more runnable areas with a good network of footpaths.

All events have a score format so you select your own route and go as hard or easy as you like!

To minimise the Covid 19 risk and for the safety of competitors, the local community and the organising team we will be making the following changes to our usual format:

  • The event will use MapRunF with orange and white kites marking control points on the course
  • Competitors will need: MapRunF, MapRunG or a Smart Watch (See below)
  • No entry on the day
  • Pre entry only with allocated start times
  • Arrive shortly before your start ready to run.
  • Masks must be worn in toilet areas
  • Refreshments will not be provided

The use of MapRunF will mean that competitors can arrive ready to run and go directly to the start. For those who are new to MapRunF more details can be found here.

Competitors will receive an A4 map, printed on waterproof paper, with all controls at the start.

MapRunF or MapRunG are prefered, but competitors could choose to use a Smart Watch and we can upload the .gpx or .fit file of their route. Please get in touch if you would like more information about this option.

The event centre will be based at the Crowden Outdoor Centre.

Compete solo or run as a pair (or walk or jog)! The score event format enables route choice according to ability, terrain and weather conditions.

The secret for success is to collect as many points as possible within the time limit of three hours. Each area is different so your strategy may need to change each time. Your best three results count towards the overall league result.

Solo or Pair: Women Senior, Women Vet 40, Women Vet 50, Women Vet 60,

Men Senior, Men Vet 40, Men Vet 50, Men Vet 60

Pairs can enter all categories. The category entered is determined by the age of the eldest competitor in the pair.

Mixed Pairs: Mixed Senior, Mixed Vet 40, Mixed Vet 50, Mixed Vet 60.

The category entered is determined by the age of the eldest competitor in the mixed pair.

Parent or Guardian & Under 18:

Where one of the two runners is under 18, the other runner must be over 21 and must also be the parent or guardian (or an accompanying adult over 21 appointed by the parent or guardian) of the junior runner. The minimum age for the junior runner is 14. It is the parent or guardian’s responsibility to ensure that this rule is adhered to.
