Ho Ho Ho! Santa and little helpers welcome you to a night of festive frolics at Nairn East Beach - Wed 18th December 2019

This event is Round 3 of the Northern Night Cup.  Look here for details of the Cup rules, points scoring etc.

Safety: A whistle and spare torch MUST be carried. Waterproof jackets MUST be brought to the event as they may be made compulsory on the night.  Reflective jackets recommended. There is good mobile coverage.  Emergency contact numbers will be printed on the map.

Winter Weather: Due to the time of year, the event is vulnerable to cancellation in case of severe weather. A weather update will be issued 24 hours prior to the event, both by email to all those who have pre-entered and on the club website.

Planner’s comments: Generally level terrain, with a few ups and downs.  Terrain is predominantly pine forest on sand dunes, with some grassland and open sand dunes. Good path network.  The pockets of gorse are thick, don’t bother.   Recently updated map, 1:7,500 scale, 2.5m contour intervals.

Directions and Parking: From A96 east of the bridge over the River Nairn, turn north down Maggot Road (signed for Lochloy Holiday Park). Drive eastwards right through the caravan park to the public car park at the far end.  Registration will be at this East Beach car park (NH 895 575) with a tent provided for leaving clothes, basic shelter, etc.  There is limited parking at East Beach, should it fill up you will be redirected back to use the Maggot car park (NH 888 570) at the entrance to the Holiday Park, from where it is a 10min walk to Registration.
