Info: New entries for this event closed on Tuesday 28th January 2020.
On the stroke of midnight you will start from Carrickfergus Castle, Co Antrim and set off on a course that takes you along rural roads, trails, lanes and through forests. The event includes Half and Full Marathon distance and a Half Marathon walk. Both courses are predominantly run off road and will give runners spectacular views of Belfast Lough. Both courses finish back at Carrickfergus Castle.
Both events are self-sufficient, and runners will be provided with a detailed roadbook to self-navigate the course, providing a unique opportunity to challenge yourself in a new way. There will be no signage or marshals on the course, so you need to follow the roadbook (no compass or additional map required).
As there is no access to naturally occurring water on the course and as this is a self-sufficient event, runners must carry their own food and water. This is a challenging course so runners should exercise their own common sense and carry adequate water and food supplies for the distance. These must be shown at registration.
This is the only midnight marathon/half in NI so you will be taking part in a unique and exciting event!
Time limits of 4 hours for the half, 6 hours for the half marathon walk and 8 hours for the full marathon will be imposed.
As this is a self-sufficient event, we have kept the entry fee low.
All runners will receive a road book, post-race refreshments and a medal.
Marathon Start time: 12 midnight. Half Marathon Start time: 12 midnight
