Adventure Awaits You...

Located at Nevis Range on the outskirts of Fort William, Scotland, this running festival gives you some of the most amazing trail routes on offer.  Will you make this your adventure playgrond for the weekend?!

2019 hosted the inaugral event and was a huge success!

Five Races:

Leannachan Forest 5 Klicks ~   A 5k run around the Leannachan Forest following the popular Fort William parkrun loop.  Along forestry tracks, over boardwalks and bridges, along narrow winding bike tracks before dropping down below the forest tree adventure course.  Don’t forget to look up enjoy the views of the majestic mountains including the North Face of Ben Nevis.  Beware of Scorpion Hill in the last 100mtrs!

Leannachen Forest 10 ~ A 10k trot around the stunning Leannachan Forest around Nevis Range in a figure of 8 route.  This takes in all sorts of tracks from wide forestry to narrow forest paths. You wont be disappointed with the views here!

The Nevis Range Loop (Half Marathon)  ~ For those who want more! A half marathon in and around Nevis Range and the Leannachan Forest.  We may be biased, but probably the most scenic half marathon you will get!

Meet the Wee Minister Marathon  ~ Start off on Forestry tracks out to the  Allt a' Mhuillin path.  Which will give you a climb (come on, you did not expect to come to the Highlands of Scotland and not have a good hill climb?!) to some of the most breath-taking views of Lochaber and the North Face of Ben Nevis.  From this you will follow another forestry track back towards Nevis Range before turning off onto the ‘puggy line’ (a  railway line that 'pugs' - a Scottish colloquial name for small steam locomotives – travelled along, used in the days of the British Aluminium Co Ltd).

From there you will head North East towards Spean Bridge and Inverroy where you will eventually meet The Wee Minister!  (A wooden statue of a sombre-looking Free Church minister which has been put back after being missing for around 40 years, the original was made of stone.  Known as the “Wee Minister”, he once stood near the track to the Grey Corries in a remote area near Spean Bridge.

The figure was so revered that people used to thrust coins into his outstretched hands in the belief it would bring travellers good fortune.  A charity box is now there where the contents are donated to Lochaber Mountain Rescue.  Although some say to rub his head for luck nowadays. )

You then return a short distance to take up another puggy line which will give you outstanding views of the mountains, don’t forget your camera!  You will then eventually pick up another forestry track which will take you back into Nevis Range.

The Full Monty – Are you brave enough to take the challenge?!  Complete all of the above races over the weekend to become an exclusive member of our Full Monty club, where you will receive an engraved glass plaque to remind you of your achievements!

Race the Monkey Hill Race ~ Race the No Fuss Events Monkey Gondola from the bottom station to top station.  The monkey will be travelling at an approximate speed of the current New Years Day Anoach Mor Uphill race record.  You need to try beat him to the top!  When you get there, you will be scanned before running back down to the base station.

The Big Yin - The Full Monty AND Race the Monkey – For the really brave amongst us! Not only will be a Full Monty member but you will also receive a special Big Yin engraved glass tankard.

Ceilidh ~ Dance away your aches at our Sunday night Ceilidh!
