Pearson Cycle Specialists invite you to join the 2012 Pearson 150 Cycle Challenge on 20th May 2012!
Back by popular demand after the huge success of the last two year's event, we promise an even better sportive to kick start your summer 2012.
Two distances, 150km or 75km, a great day of riding, beautiful scenery, and a challenge for all levels of rider in aid of Royal Marsden Hospital.
Why ride or sponsor a rider for this event?
After the success of the 2010 and 2011 Pearson sportives we aim to make the 2012 sportive even better!
The Royal Marsden Cancer Campaign raises money to help the hospital stay at the leading edge of cancer treatment, research and care. It is a centre of excellence for cancer sufferers, helping people of all ages from all over the country. Cancer touches the lives of so many people and we at Pearsons owe a great debt to the Marsden, for the treatment that Roger Pearson (4th generation of Pearson to run the business) received following diagnosis and in his final days battling this disease. Not only will you enjoy a fantastic day out, but you will also be raising money for this cause through your entry.
New for the 2012 event:
New and improved route markers
Increased donation to the Royal Marsden.
1000 entries now available
Speedy sign in for registration at HQ
Marshalling points at strategic points on course
Addition of further feed/watering stop for longer route
The Pearson 150 (150km) route will take you south through the lanes of Surrey and Sussex, taking in the climbs of the North and South downs, followed by a swift descent to the half way marker at Brighton. There you can take in the sea air and refuel. The second half of the route will take you north again, riding through exquisite undulating scenery to the finish. Timing chips will be clocked in and results instantly available.
* Please note we have revised the route into Brighton after Ditchling Beacon to reduce the amount of traffic lights and junctions in this section, please see map for details.
A map of the 150km route can be found here
The Challenge route is 75km through leafy lanes in Surrey taking in some easier ascents of the north downs. The halfway mark will be just on the borders of Sussex where the ride turns for home via a refuelling point and more beautiful lanes en route. Again, at the finish, timing chips will be clocked in and results available.
