20 miles/32km, ascent/descent of 6070 feet/1850m over several mountains in South Snowdonia including the iconic Cadair Idris ridge.

This is a led, group walk so no maps or navigational skills are required. The group is expected to remain together and follow the instructions of the leader. It is very demanding both mentally and physically. Due to its nature, this walk only takes place if conditions are favourable. It should only be undertaken by walkers experienced over long distances with an extremely good level of fitness. To ensure being off the mountains at the expected time, the walk will leave at 07:00 sharp and there will be limited stops on route.

There will be dropping off points (not necessarily guided) and it is possible that the leader could ask you to leave the walk at one of these points if it is felt that completion within the required time was being compromised.

Meet at the Dragon Theatre in Barmouth at 6:45am. Transport to the start of the walk will be provided at a cost of £5. The walk finishes back in Barmouth. See for further practicalities such as parking.

This walk is part of the Barmouth Walking Festival which takes place over 10 days every September, offering up to 30 led walks of various grades. This is one of the two "super walks" that are intended for experienced walkers seeking a challenge of physical fitness rather than a sightseeing expedition.
